James Coats is a speaker, storyteller, musician, entrepreneur, and lifelong student of human experience.
For more than two decades, he has been fascinated by a simple question: Why do some experiences stay with us for a lifetime while others are forgotten almost immediately?
That question has shaped a career spanning hospitality, weddings, music, leadership, nonprofit service, and entrepreneurship. Along the way, James has come to believe that memorable experiences are rarely accidental. They are the result of thoughtful people paying attention.
He is the founder of Coats Classic Cars, proprietor of Oak Hill Farm, and served as President of ALWEP (Alabama Wedding and Event Professionals) for more than a decade.
Through speaking, consulting, writing, and storytelling, James explores the intersection of hospitality, atmosphere, intentionality, and human experience — and how thoughtfully constructed environments shape memory, meaning, and connection.
